This beauty is intended for my grandson and his fiancee! They had an idyllic and romantic engagement in Blue Ridge. They live in Cincinnati, came to Blue Ridge for a long weekend and made reservations to ride the ‘scenic train’. During the trip family members were standing along the tracks at a wide place along the way with signs that read “Katie, will you marry me?” He had contacted the train engineer and the conductor and arranged for the train crew to slow train down and direct everyone’s attention to that side of the tracks. My grandson got on his knees and had the ring ready. She was speechless!!! But she said YES! All the people in that car on the train clapped and congratulated them. They have known each other for several years and have been dating for about a year.
I cased this from Marcy Denning’s http://www.stampinwithmarcy.com stunning card. The only things I changed were the embossing in the background (this is not a Stampin’ Up! folder), and the sentiment. When I put the card together there was nothing I would change!
The colors are Blusing Bride and Crumb Cake. My new two most favorite colors. I have in mind to make a card out of these colors for my granddaughter’s seventh birthday. They are of course ballet colors! Love, love, love their combination.
Using Crumb Cake for the back ground I adhered a layer of Blushing Bride topped by an embossed layer of Crumb Cake. Then layering Blushing Bride with Love Blossoms DSP (Paper Stack-Occasions Catalog) and adhering to front of card. Next layer set is Blushing Bride layered with Whisper White. Heart is from Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set stamped in Crumb Cake. The small hearts are die cut using Blushing Bride and the small heart from the Blooming’ Heart Thinlets set. Adhere with glue dots and place pearls for centers on all flowers. The sentiment is from the Cuddles and Kisses Stamp Set (retired).
The inside is layered Blushing Bride with Whisper White and hearts punched out of two corners. I haven’t decided on an envelope yet but it will be Crumb Cake for sure!
Another Sympathy Card that is more appropriate for men. Whisper White is base layered with Birthday Bouquet DSP (Occasions Catalog). Two rows of Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon are adhered diagonally. Whisper White Card Stock is stamped using Mossy Meadow INkpad and heat embossed using clear embossing powder, sentiment from Rose Wonder Stamp Set. The sentiment is then die cut using Oval thinlets, two sizes, one for Mossy Meadow Base. Adhere to card using dimensional to give the Sentiment interest. Fussy cut a rose out of the DSP and adhere to edge of layered Sentiment. Candy Dots in Mossy Meadow complete the front of the card.
Inside is layered Mossy Meadow, Whisper White and a fussy cut rose adhered to the top right.
Can’t wait to showcase this card. I love the colors, who said Sympathy cards have to be basic black, tan, and sad? Watermelon wonder is the basic card color, layered with Birthday Bouquet DSP(Occasions Catalog), adhere Watermelon Wonder Ribbon across lower third of card. Using Oval Thinlets choose sizes that leave about an inch on each side, layer Blushing Bride with Whisper White. Sentiment from Rose Wonder Stamp Set (Occasions Catalog) is stamped in Watermelon Wonder and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. Adhere sentiment layers using dimensional to give it a bit of interest to the front of the card. Candydots in Watermelon Wonder adhered to outer circle and a fussy cut rose tucked on sentiment with a small piece of Watermelon Wonder ribbon notched under that.
Inside is Whisper White adhered to the card and fussy cut rose medallion adhered to the bottom of the card round out this lovely Sympathy Card.
Okay, I have to fess up…. Third card in the box (My favorite!)…Love how this looks,Imade a card much like this earlier so I changed this up a bit. Two of these cards in the box. Who ever has enough Thank You Cards? The base for this card is Hello Honey. Basic Black played with Wildflower Fields DSP (SAB-retired). Before adhering his down adding 1/4 cotton ribbon in Hello Honey with bow. The Circle was cut using three size dies from Circle Thinlets. Using Basic Black, die cut two largest circles to form the black frame, then using the smallest circle die and the next size up cut a frame from the Wildflower Fields DSP. Using the Flower Stamp from Serene Silhouettes and Hello Honey Inkpad I stamped twice ‘full strength’ and twice 1/2 strength on spattered background. (Background was spattered using Hello Honey Ink Refill in Stampin’ Up Spritzer bottle). Adhere Background to back of frames and adhere to card. Die Cut Thanks from Basic Black Card Stock using the Greetings Thinlet Set (Annual Catalog) and adhere to card.
Inside Card is layered Basic Black and Whisper White, first stamping Flower on Whisper White twice.
Here is the second card for the Card Box. There are two cards like this in the box. Wildflower Fields DSP (SAB-retired) layered on Black Berry Bliss Cardstock, adhered to WhisperWhite Card stock after attaching Stitched Satin Ribbon and bow, in Blackberry Bliss. Petite Petals are stamped three times using Black Berry Bliss-choosing three different patterns. Punch out three flowers from Black Berry Bliss Card Stock ad adhere using glue dots. Then adhere punched out stamped flowers using dimensionals to give them so interest. Stamp Sentiment (Suite Sayings-Occasions Catalog) in Black Berry Bliss and emboss using Cear Embossing Powder. Adhere Blackberry Bliss Candy Dots to top right edge.
Inside is Blackberry Bliss layered with Wildflower Fields under Petite Petals Punched out three times in Whisper White. I love this ‘Classy look’!.
Here’s the first card in the Card Box. Using the stamp set “Grateful Bunch (Occasions Catalog) I first stamped the set of three flowers in Jet Black Stazon Ink, then hand watercolored the flowers using the Aquapainter and Black Berry Bliss, Calypso Coral and Hello Honey. Then I stamped the stem/leaves (two times) using Old Olive and watercolored the leaves with Old Olive. Using the smallest flower cutout I daubed Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss flowers on the background. Flowers were adhered with glue dots and the larger flowers I used dimensional to give them a little dimension. Using the Oval thinlet dies I choose three dies in graduating sizes. Cut Lost Lagoon in the the largest size and skipping one size I then cut the the frame. , Using Whisper White I cut the background using the middle size oval. Glueing them together with a thin line of liquid glue. The back ground banner was cut from DSP Wildflower Fields (SAB now retired). Layering DSP Wildflower Fields and Whisper White, I notched the ends, stamped and embossed Happy Day from the Perfect Pairings Stamp Set (SAB -retired),using Lost Lagoon Ink ad clear embossing powder. The inside is stamped again in Old Olive and the Flowers were stamped in Black Berry Bliss, Lost Lagoon and punched out. Adhered with glue dots. Sweet Huh?
Happy Tuesday everyone. Hope you were able to get your orders in to Stampin’ Up! for any of the retiring products that you wanted. Most of the late afternoon found me trying to get my order to go through, a hint, Save and Exit, later go to Modify an order, your order is there, then just submit it. I live in the Boonies, Wi-fi is way down on my phone companies priorities and on good days I have ‘fair’ service. I considered getting in my car, driving four miles to the ‘big’ city and using my phone to submit it there. But I am philosophical, if I don’t get it in then I guess I didn’t need it!
Okay that said here is my share today and a teaser! Oops, there are no cards in the box, no I didn’t forget I will share the cards that I created to go into this box over the next few days. This holds five cards and envelopes with layers of cardstick and embellishments. Less cardstock and embellishments it will hold six. I cased this from Karen Titus’s well done You Tube Video: “Stampin’ Up Express Card Box for your Handmade Cards”. https://youtu.be/bSbZzF5LElY?t=218 I did however use a different type of fastening for this box, I had lots of Lost Lagoon Satin Stitched Ribbon, a nd rounded the corners on the front.
These are Retiring colors, I am so sad, I love them! The cover DSP Wildflower Fields from SAB (now retired), Sentiment is Botanicals For You Stamp Set (SAB-retired) stamped in Lost Lagoon. Can’t wait to share the cards with you.
