When this post is published I will be 6,000 miles away in Anchorage, Alaska! My granddaughter lives there with her to sweet children 18 months and 3 years old. I am also taking with me my 9 year old granddaughter. We are flying. This will be my summer vacation-invited my hubby to go with me and he replied “someone has to keep the dogs and kitty so I will stay home”. He does not care much for Alaska. Years ago we did a Jazz cruise and land tour, I loved it, him not so much. In the following years I had the opportunity to teach crafts on a cruise ship and made six trips up and back from Vancouver to Anchorage on the cruise ship. He didn’t join me once! The inside passage is so beautiful and so different than anything else in the world. If you have a chance to see it go….the glaciers are spectacular. I’ll be posting pictures during the two weeks I am there. Now on to the project.
This started out as a personal challenge-use the stripped paper from the Playful Palette DSP Paper stack. This striped paper caused me to shake my head. I just couldn’t get a handle on how to use it to its full effectiveness then I came to the conclusion that it would make a Mini- treat bag with some agents and ribbon and butterflies thrown in.
Using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlets set I made my bag. Then measured and cut a piece of Blushing Bride and Stock just 1/2 inch less than the width of the bag and 1 1/2 times the length. Fitting the top of the Blushing Bride inside the larges Nested Circles Framelits I trimmed the end and then trimmed the other end of the Blushing Bride Card Stock and the Very Vanilla Card Stock. Did the same with the Very Vanilla and DSP layer before adhering all together using Snail Adhesive. The layer of Very Vanilla at the bottom was first stamped and then adhered.
The Stamp Set used for the butter fly was the Watercolor Wings Stamp Set, the butterfly was triple stamped in Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum and Crumb Cake Ink. The sentiment was stamped in Sweet Sugarplum. The top of the card was punched using the Handheld 1/8″ punch and Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon was added.
The Outside of the bag is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum using the double row of dots from the Water Color Wings Stamp Set. The Butterfly on the from front of the bag is two layers, one layer Blushing Bride Card Stock is die cut from Butterflies Thinlets and the top layer is Playful Pallette DSP Paper Stack and die cut using the smaller butterfly from Butterlies Thinlets Set. The front of the bag is finished by tying and knotting a length of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon around the bag. I think anyone would be happy to receive Mini Treat Bag/Card Bag.
