It is so much fun to make a different fold card. Here is the PinWheel design using the new Blooms and Bliss DSP. One of the best tutorial videos I have found is from DOStamping and you can access that You Tube Video here. I found it quite easy to follow, the hardest part is picking the paper for your card.
Following the video my Card Stock was first cut to 8″ X 8″. Then using the Diagonal Scoring plate I scored, cut and folded as she directed. And here is the finished card.
The belly band is essential for decorating the Card, and makes it look Oh, So, special. To make the Belly band I used the die from the Flourish Thinlets Set and cut two pieces of Whisper White and overlapping them in the back to match flawlessly. This piece was adhered to a piece of Mint Macaroon (1 1/4″ wide) and a little longer than the circumference of the card. The lacy Whisper White was adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. This is what the back looks like.
The Belly Band was finished by die cutting the medallion in Whisper White using the Flourish Thinlets die. (Be sure to use the new die brush set on this die set. It really helps get all those little bits out of the die). Then die cut a circle using the Layering Circles Die set choosing a size the is just a bit bigger than the Medallion. Adhere together using the Fine Tip Glue Pen and adhere all to the Belly Band using Snail.
The folded card looks complicated but it really isn’t once you get the hang of where all the ends go!
And here is the inside. Cutting layer of Mint Macaroon Card Stock and layering with the opposite side of the DSP in Blooms and Bliss. Using a large scalloped circle die from the layering Circles Framelits die cut one in Mint Macaroon and then choose one size smaller and die cut one scalloped circle in Whisper White Card Stock. Again using the border thinly from Flourish Thinlet set cut one strip in Whisper White. Position the border die cut diagonally from one side to another and adhere using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Then smudge the edge of the Mint Macaroon using the Spong Daubers and Mint Macaroon Inkpad. Stamp the sentiment from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set in Mint Macaroon. Adhere all layers together using SNAIL. Then punch out the butterfly using the Bitty Butterfly punch in Island Indigo . Add a Pearl Basic Jewel for his head, adhere with glue dot.
