A couple of weeks ago my son and four children visited from Texas. One of the boys is 11 and very close to me. He always writes me little notes and I always keep one of his notes in my billfold. This trip he got into my beads (with my permission ) and made me a lovely necklace. Then he wrote me the sweetest note on a few sticky notes, put them into an envelope and wrote on the envelope that I couldn’t open it until he was gone. He said he didn’t want to see me cry……Guess he knows me too well. So I just had to create a card for an eleven year old boy, a thank you for making me the necklace and especially writing me such a sweet note. Here is the necklace he created for me. And below is the card I made for him.
Don’t you love frogs? Emerald Envy is surely a froggy color! I love this little frog, she looks so intelligent and just so ready to sing -er- croak a little song. I cased this from BJ Peters, stampinbj.com. I loved how she used the hearts to emphasize the “love you lots” sentiment. Kind of a quick and easy card. I did change it up a bit to make it mine.
The card base is Emerald Envy, layered with a piece of DSP from the 2016-2018 Designer Series Paper Stack in Emerald Envy. The Whisper White layer is layered with a piece of Tip Top Taupe Card Stock. I first positioned the frog where I wanted her and then carefully stamped the little mud puddle using Tip Top Taupe Ink and the stamp is from Work of Art Stamp Set. The frog is from the stamp set Love You Lots (a hostess stamp set-free with order of $150 or more!). She is stamped in Tuxedo Black and using an aqua pen and Emerald Envy Ink Pad I gave her some color. The Sentiment is from the Love You Lots Stamp Set stamped in Tuxedo Black. I added an Emerald Envy Ruched Ribbon Bow just below the sentiment. The hearts are die cut using the heart framelit from the Bear Hugs Framelits set in Real Red Card Stock.
The inside is Tip Top Taupe layered with Whisper White. Using the Rick Rack stamp from the Work of Art Stamp set and is stamped in Emerald Envy. One tiny heart was die cut using the same framelit as above. I think she is lovely!
