Have you ever just started making a card and you couldn’t remember why you used that color? or that design? Well, several months ago I decided that I would try out buying a card kit and see what I could do with it. I can’t remember who exactly I bought it from, but when it came I realized that none of the cards were the kind that I would make! So, I played with a couple of the card kits and this is one of them. It is totally changed around, I didn’t use all the pieces that came with it. I started with it because of all Stampin’ Up! Colors this is my very least favorite!!!! Although I must admit I really like it here with the smoky slate accents.
The background for this card is Whisper White Card Stock, adhered to the front is a layer of Tempting Turquoise adhered together using SNAIL Adhesive. The Tempting Turquoise layer was embossed using the Elegant Dots Embossing Folder. Half of a Delicate White Doily is positioned on the lower left corner of the front. Next I die cut two scalloped circles (in Whisper White and Smoky Slate Card Stock) from the Layering Circles Framelits using two graduated sizes that framed the little jar perfectly.
The little ‘Turquoise fish’ is stamped in Tempting Turquoise on Whisper White Card Stock and die cut using the smaller jar from the Everyday Jars Framelits set. Before adhering the jar to the front of the card I tied a little piece of Thick Whisper White Bakers Twine around the top of the jar. The jar was adhered to the circles using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I then stamped the Sentiment in Tempting Turquoise Ink from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set on Whisper White. I carefully cut the piece into an arrow or banner. Then I used a piece of Smoky Slate DSP from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack cut into a arrow or banner shape.
The inside of the card was finished using the watercolor technique on a stamping block. I used a Stampin’ Write Marker in Tempting Turquoise and kind of scribbled on the block. I then spritzed it with water and let it run together a bit. I then used the block as a stamp on Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped a cute little Turquoise Fish on the lower right side as though he were just swimming away!
These are the products that I used in this card: Product List
