Oh, my goodness. I love Candy Cane Lane DSP! with it’s matching Real Red Ribbon and Card Stock. Everyone needs some quick to make gift card holders and this one would be a best seller at a Christmas Craft Bazaar I bet. Take a peek inside!
To make this gift holder I watched Sweet Serenity’s You Tube video: Slide up Gift Card Holder. She has wonderful, easy directions to follow with measurements that are perfect.
The base is Real Red Card Stock , outside is Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper from the Holiday Catalog. Around the top of the card is 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Real Red tied in a bow. It is applied from the back side before finishing the inside. The Jingle Bells in Real Red and the cute little Gingerbread boy charm come in different sets. The Gingerbread boy is from the Christmas Trinkets Embellishments-so cute the set also includes bells and holly charms! The little jingle bells are from the Mini Jingle Bells Set that include 60 bells, 30 each of silver and red.
The charms are tied on with the Red Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine. A little fiddly but they can be strung on the Twine with patience! In her video she uses little Velcro dots to hold the top closed. I have not had very good success with Velco dots in the past so I put in little tiny magnets to hold it closed. They are available on Amazon.
The inside is an easy lift mechanism of one sheet of Crumb Cake Card Stock just adhered to the top of the ‘lid’ with Fast Fuse. She explains that it is important to use Fast Fuse or a very strong adhesive because when you lift the top it pulls up the inside mechanism. Before adhering I stamped the sentiment in Real Red Ink using a stamp from the Oh What Fun Stamp Set in the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog.
Quick and easy! And so colorful and full of fun and Gift Card. Tomorrow I will be sharing another slide up Gift Card holder in a different DSP. Hope you will check back. It is a bit more ‘adult’.
Here is a list of the products that I used.
