Stampin’ Up! Father Christmas adorns this vintage look Christmas Card in Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla

Ok, now I am ready to work on Christmas Cards.  All my Thanksgiving Cards went into the mail today.  Almost forgot to mail them!  This week I have three of my grand kids.  We started in Marietta yesterday, spent last night at Embassy Suites (for the indoor pool), swam, went to supper, swam and all went to bed so quietly!  Today we got up had breakfast and swam some more.  We had a wonderful treat, a movie I would never have gone to see turned out to be really exciting.  The new Harry Potter movie: “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”.  We saw it in 3D and it was certainly a thrilling movie!  Loved every minute of it.  And so did the kids.

Now on to my card for today.  When I first saw the “Father Christmas Stamp Set” I fell in love, Santa is sooo vintage and a challenge to carry out his vintage ness on a card.  Think I did pretty good.  So here it is.

The base card is Very Vanilla Card Stock with a layer of Crumb Cake Card Stock adhered with SNAIL adhesive  next.  On top of those two layers is a layer of Very Vanilla Card Stock first dry embossed with the Holly Embossing Folder and then applied with Fast Fuse due to the humps and bumps tend to be hard to stick to another layer.  Father Christmas was stamped in Stazon Jet Black Ink on Very Vanilla  Card Stock.  I then die cut it  using the largest oval from the Stitched from the Heart Framelits.  The frame around it is Crumb Cake Card Stock cut from Layering Ovals Framelits. This image was adhered to the embossed layer with Fast Fuse adhesive.

The Merry Wishes Sentiment is stamped in Jet Black Stazon Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The stamp is from the Oh What Fun Stamp Set in the annual catalog.  It was die cut using Layering Oval Framelits and layered with Crumb Cake also cut from the Layering Oval Framelits.  The sentiment was then adhered to the frame and applied using Stamping Dimensionals.

I decided that the inside should have a bit of color and only a bit.  First I stamped the Holly Spray in Jet Black Stazon Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The Holly Spray Stamp and the fancy border at the bottom and the sentiment were all stamped in Jet Black Stazon Ink and are from the Father Christmas Stamp Set.

The Holly Berries are colored in using the Real Red Stampin Write Marker.  The layer between the Very Vanilla Card Stock is Crumb Cake.   Rather quick and I think rather stunning.  Hope you agree!  Now back to my kids.  Think we’ll play a few hands of Uno tonight before bed.  They will be with me until Thanksgiving Day.

Here are the products that I used in making this card:
