Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventure Child Birthday card in Emerald Envy

Snowcation!  That’s what I’ve titled today…2 1/2″ here, 14 degrees and sunny.  Our dirt road is actually melting in the sun as the thermometer has risen to 25 degrees in the shade.  Tried to get out of our little community a little while ago and ended up sideways on the hill just off of our dirt road.  Not fun,  got back on the dirt road and home.  I didn’t fancy ending up down the mountain.  That hill is rough, sun never hits it and it is the last area to melt.  The county usually salts it but apparently they haven’t made it this far yet.  The hazards of living in the mountains.

So today my card is from the Occasions Catalog that was just launched a couple of days ago.  Love the colors in it, blues, greens, yellows, and orange!  Great primary colors and perfect for kids cards or adults that are kids at heart!

Here is my card and how I made it, Balloon friendly for sure!

This suite is perfectly the coordinated.  Did I say it is difficult to decide just which die, which color, which DSP???  So many options and so pretty.  The basic Card is Emerald Envy with Party Animal Designer Series Paper on the front.  I then used the Stylized Birthday Stamp by stamping it first in Versa Mark Ink using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig and then cleaned my stamp and used Emerald Envy Ink to stamp again perfectly with the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for positioning on Crushed Curry Card Stock.  I then heat embossed it using the Stampin’ Up Clean Embossing Powder.  The sentiment was then die cut using the largest die from the Layering Ovals Framelits.  Then layering it on a piece of Emerald Envy Card Stock and cutting the back ground piece to frame the sentiment.  I then punched the corners using the Project Life  Corner punch.

The ribbon is Emerald Envy 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, wrapped around the center of the Emerald Envy piece, tied at the top and made a bow.  The little party hat at the bottom is from the Party Animal Embellishments set tied to the ribbon using White Bakers Twine.  The sentiment was then adhered to the Emerald Envy piece centering the ribbon under it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The whole piece was adhered to the front of the card using Fast Fuse since it is a bit bulky and I wanted it to stay in place.

The inside was using the wonderfully creative die from the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlets Die set. Don’t you just love the pretty balloons that come forward when you open the card?  Using Crushed Curry Card Stock I die cut the center.  Before folding on the embossed folding lines I stamped the balloons in Emerald Envy.  And the cute groups of Balloon tethers on each side.  Before placing it down I added a small piece of the green DSP from the Balloon Adventures DSP to fit behind the adhered center piece.  I cut two strips from the same paper and covered the sides of the center using SNAIL adhesive to place them.

Whisper White envelope was stamped in Pacific Point and Crushed Curry Ink to match the card.  I will be mailing this card inside a bubble envelope as it is rather think and I don’t want it destroyed in the mail.  I think it turned out rather cute.  Fun to put together!
