Valentine Flags spell Love! Stampin’ Up! Sending Love DSP

Love nautical themes, makes me think of summer on the water-ocean, lake, river, stream or backyard pond.  Warm breezes and many years ago sheets blowing in the wind on washday!  Okay, enough reminiscing.  This pretty card speaks LOVE loud and clear.

The card base is Whisper White Card Stock layered with Real Red Card Stock and Sending Love Designers Series Paper Stack.  Then Real Red Card Stock and Whisper White Card Stock.  I stamped the sentiment from the Sealed with Love Stamp Set in Real Red on the lower left.  The curly-cue is also from that stamp set.

The little ‘flags’ were made by using the smallest die from the Banners Framelits set and Real Red and Whisper White Card Stock.  I stamped the Kiss, Love, and the diagonal strips using the stamps from the Sealed with Love Stamp Set on Whisper White Card Stock.  I then ‘fussy cut’ these out and adhered them to the pointy end of the banners.  I added an enamel heart from the Bright Enameled Shapes  Embellishments to the diagonal lines as seen in the picture.  Then all fussy cut pieces were adhered to the Banners.

Choosing where to place the ends of my flag line I then punched two holes on each side at the top of the card.  I played with it a bit before I punched the holes.  I wanted the line to drape a bit.  Then threading each end of Whisper White Thick Bakers Twine through the two holes on each side I carefully tied the twine into a knot and effectively covered my holes.

Then I took the banner and bending them kind of in half I placed the crease on the Bakers Twine and held them together with a glue dot.  They swing free of the card.

The inside of the card was completed by layering Sending Love DSP, Real Red Card Stock and Whisper White Card Stock.  The heart curly cue at the top was stamped in Real Red Ink using the stamp from Sealed with Love Stamp Set.
