Stampin’ Up! Fresh Fig Wine is Devine! All occasion card.

Here in North Georgia the temperature was an early fall 59 degrees this morning.  Cool, dry air and just hints of cooler weather to come.  What better way to celebrate fall that a delicious glass of red wine.

New Stampin’ Up! In Colors includes two colors that I was not too fond of, at first.  Now it is down to one.  Fresh Fig was one of those colors that just didn’t ring my bell.   Couldn’t think of a project or card I wanted to use it with…until I saw this versatile ‘Wine is Devine’ Stamp Set.  Suddenly realized that Fresh Fig is actually Red Wine color!  So I started playing and this is what I created.  The colors I used were Fresh Fig, Pear Pizazz and Whisper White.  The fluer de les at the top were stamped off twice before stamping on the card front.  The ‘sister’ stamp set that is perfect with   ‘Wine is Devine’ Stamp Set is the Stampin’ Up! Tuscan Vineyards Stamp Set-the fluer de les, the grapes and the award stamps.

The seal on the bottle of wine was first stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then the top was gently laid on the VersaMark  Pad and heat embossed with Copper Stampin’ Embossing Powder.  The bottle and glass wine was colored in using the Stampin’ Write Marker in Fresh Fig.  The label on the bottle was stamped on Blushing Bride Cardstock and fussy cut, applied with Multipurpose Glue.  The glass and bottle were fussy cut.

The corks on the inside are from the Tuscan Vineyards Stamp Set.  All Stampin’ Up! products and are listed below used in this card.

Delightful Daisy DSP Graduation Gift Check Holder

You may have noticed that I haven’t posted since early April.  Life kinda has a funny way of  happening!  Many family members visiting, and most especially my work.  And then when I had a couple of days off, got my laundry caught up and went to my craft room, I couldn’t think of one single card I wanted to make!  Ever happen to you?  So without cards I had nothing to post about.  I finally gave in and pulled out the card fronts I made for On Stage the first of April.  I have never shown them and I do think they are pretty.  So I will be featuring them over the next few weeks trying to get my posting back on a regular basis I will start by posting just once a week on Saturday.

That said, I did make a couple of new cards recently and will feature those first.  The one I am showing today was a graduation check holder made with the lovely, inspiring Delightful Daisy DSP and the Daisy Punch.

This is the outside, the check I used was a Cashiers Check and it is unusually long- 8 1/2″.  The colors are: Calypso Coral and Old Olive.  See below for the list of supplies that I used on this project.

Here it is without the ‘Belly Band”.

The sentiment is mostly original.  I found the basic sentiment on the internet but was unable to find the author.  I changed quite a bit of it to suit my situation. The sentiment was printed from my computer on Whisper White Card Stock and cut to fit.  The little length of Whisper White at the bottom of the sentiment covers up my personal message and signature.  Forgot to take a picture  before I signed it!

Here are the supplies I used in making this holder.  If you would like the size of the cuts  please email me and I will be happy to send them to you.

Stampin’ Up! Tuscan Vineyard Stamp Set so vintage-Congratulations Card.

Tuscan Vineyard Stamp Set just cries out for vintage rendition.  Delightful Dijon is the color I chose to feature this pretty, vintage looking scene.  The card base is Delightful Dijon Card Stock layered with a piece of jSerene Scenery Paper as background.  I didn’t want the Dandelion ‘Fluff’ to show so I carefully cropped the paper to get all the big stuff out of the way.  Then using the motif stamp from the Timeless Textures Stamp Set I stamped off once and then stamp randomly on the background covering all the little fluff that was showing through.

Don’t you love the Burlap Ribbon?  But how to feature it?  It is perfect on this card and adds to the vintage feel of the scerenly.  I adhered a piece of the Burlap Ribbon to the top 1/3 of the card.  Then I stamped the pastoral scene from the Tuscan Vineyard Stamp set using  Tuxedo Black Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The scene is colored in with the Blender Pen using Emerald Envy, Crumb Cake and Old Olive ink.

Choosing an oval die that fit the scene plus a 1 /4″ I die cut the scene and added a frame by die cutting the next size die in Delightfu Dijon Card Stock.  I adhered the frame to the picture using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  This finished piece was adhered to the background using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The little Medallion  was stamped using Versamark Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  It was then heat embossed using the NEW Stampin’ Up! Copper Embossing Powder.  The Medallion was die cut using a small Scalloped Circle die and the background piece-Delightful Dijon- was die cut using the next size up Scalloped Circle die.  (These are from the Layered Circles Thinlets Set).  I smudged (Using a dauber) the edge of the Medallion with Delightful Dijon before adhering it to its back piece.  The finished piece was adhered to the front using Stampin’ Dimensionals on the edge away from the scene and a bit of SNAIL was used on the edge to hold it down to the frame of the scene.

The Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set Sentiment if perfect here, stamped in  Versamark Ink and heat embossed using Copper Embossing Powder on Very Vanilla.  The sentiment was then trimmed to fit and the ends were die cut using a small die from the Layering Circles Set.  The sentiment was then  smudged using Delightful Dijon.  This was then adhered to a piece of Delightful Dijon Card Stock and trimmed leaving a 1/4″ frame all around.

To finish off the front I cut a short length of the Burlap Ribbon and folded it in two, adhered under the Medallion using a glue dot to hold it in place.  (Also had to use a glue dot on each end of the ribbon, they tended to want to jump up!

Love this inside!!!  I used a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped it all over using the motif stamp from Timeless Treasures as I did on the front of the card stamping off once or twice.  The jugs are from the Tuscan Vineyard Stamp Set,  stamped in Delightful Dijon.  (Note*I had just reinked my stamp pad and it was too juicy-hence the dark circle at the bottom of the jugs-but kind of lends a shadow effect.)

The inside top is a coverup!!!  When I adhered the finished piece to the background I did it on the wrong side!  So,  hint: using my trusty heat gun I heated the SNAIL slightly, and carefully removed the piece from the top.  Oops-some slight roughness and tears left behind so I added this piece of Serene Scenery DSP to the top.  Glad it turned out OK.  Here is the envie I made to match.

This Pinwheel Card is so much fun, easy to create and fun to decorate. Here it is in Mint Macaroon and Whisper White using the Blooms and Bliss DSP. The Medallion die cut is from the Flourish Thinlets Die Set accented by a cute Mint Macaroon Bow in Sheer Linen.

It is so much fun to make a different fold card. Here is the PinWheel design using the new Blooms and Bliss DSP.  One of the best tutorial videos I have found is from DOStamping and you can access that You Tube Video here.  I found it quite easy to follow, the hardest part is picking the paper for your card.

Following the video my Card Stock was first cut to 8″ X 8″.  Then using the Diagonal Scoring plate I scored, cut and folded as she directed.  And here is the finished card.

The belly band is essential for decorating the Card, and makes it look Oh, So, special.  To make the Belly band I used the die from the Flourish Thinlets Set and cut two pieces of Whisper White and overlapping them in the back to match flawlessly.  This piece was adhered to a piece of  Mint Macaroon (1 1/4″ wide) and a little longer than the circumference of the card.  The lacy Whisper White was adhered using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  This is what the back looks like.

The Belly Band was finished by die cutting the medallion in Whisper White using the Flourish Thinlets die.  (Be sure to use the new die brush set on this die set.  It really helps get all those little bits out of the die).  Then die cut a circle using the Layering Circles Die set choosing a size the is just a bit bigger than the Medallion.  Adhere together using the Fine Tip Glue Pen and adhere all to the Belly Band using Snail.

The folded card looks complicated but it really isn’t once you get the hang of where all the ends go!

And here is the inside.  Cutting layer of Mint Macaroon Card Stock and layering with the opposite side of the DSP in Blooms and Bliss.  Using a large scalloped circle die from the layering Circles Framelits die cut one in Mint Macaroon and then choose one size smaller and die cut one scalloped circle in Whisper White Card Stock.  Again using the border thinly from Flourish Thinlet set cut one strip in Whisper White.  Position the border die cut diagonally from one side to another and adhere using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Then  smudge the edge of the Mint Macaroon using the Spong Daubers and Mint Macaroon Inkpad.  Stamp the sentiment from the Confetti Celebration Stamp Set in Mint Macaroon.  Adhere all layers together using SNAIL.  Then punch out the  butterfly using the Bitty Butterfly punch  in Island Indigo .  Add a Pearl Basic Jewel for his head, adhere with glue dot.

Stampin’ Up! New Color: Peekaboo Peach is stunning in this cute gift box featuring PlayfulPalette DSP Stack, Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon.

Don’t you agree the new colors are yummy?  This little box features Peekaboo Peach and such a lucsious color.  This little box is from Crafty Caroline  Dimensions here at her website:  Her box has a magnetic closure on the front, very easy and it holds a lot.  I didn’t have the smallest size magnets for closure so I used a belly band instead.

The video is easy to follow and the blog gives perfect measurements and directions.  I added the belly band in Peekaboo Peach Card Stock and adhered a  piece of Playful Palette DSP to the center on top.  I then wrapped a length of Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon around the long side and tied in middle leaving ends of ribbon about 1 1/2 inches long.  Then tied a bow on top of the knot.

The tag is made by first stamping in Peekaboo Peach on Very Vanilla Card Stock  with the sentiment from Gift of Love Stamp Set(Free Hostess Gift!! with $150 or more order).  Then die cutting the stamped sentiment using a framelit from the Tags and Labels Framelits Set.  Choose a tag that the Label fits on and die cut it in Peekaboo Peach Card Stock and adhere.  (At the same time as die cutting the tag place the top hole die within the Tag die and cut both together  Using a length of linen thread tie the tag to the ribbons already on the box.

This box measures 4″ X 5″ X 1″ Deep.  There is lots of room to put all kinds of goodies in.  This had a large Keychain with large fob, Small Bath and Body Hand Sanitizer and several pieces of candy as a special gift for our Nursing Assistants several weeks ago during their national week.

Here is a side view without the ribbons and belly band. IMG_0330_edited-1-1

And here is an example  of the box in Sweet Sugarplum.

Birthday Bouquet DSP completes this very special FlipTop Gift Box.

Mother’s Day was this past week and I apologize for not getting this very precious, special box posted in time.  This Split Top Box is quick and easy made with the new Heavyweight Whisper White Card Stock.  Great directions at SplitcoastStampers in the Tutorial Section.   The tutorial is done by Joan Jamieson and it is so clever!  Quick, fairly easy and very impressive.  I made this box to hold a birthday gift for my daughter.  After I took all the pictures and got the edited I discovered that this ribbon is now retired.  I looked in the new catalog and I think there are several ribbons that would work with this box. Let me know if you make it, I would love to see others ideas!  The box that I CASEd was made for Christmas with a lovely Flower on top of it.

Birthday Bouquet DSP FlipTop Gift Box

I am not going to even try to list how I made this because it is so well done on Splitcoasters site.  I did add the end to end  1 1/2″ belly band in Blushing Bride Card stock.  Using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch I punched both ends.  I secured the belly band with a bit of Sticky Strip on the bottom.

Birthday Bouquet DSP and Blushing Bride

Isn’t this clever to use the ribbon for the hinges?  So a little wider ribbon is required.

Birthday Bouquet DSP and Blushing Bride Sideview

And here it is open. Size?  it is just right for the Regular Size Cards.   The Box measures: 5 1/2″ long x 4 1/4 Wide and 1 1/2″ Deep.  It is a very sturdy box but looks so feminine and precious in this color combination.  Summery too!

Island Indigo Card includes: Circle of Spring Stamp Set and Elegant Butterfly punch.

Earlier today I posted the front of this card, forgetting that it had a special inside so here it is.  I used Whisper White 5 1/4″ X 4″, Stamped in Island Indigo and embossed as on the front of the card.  Using the Elegant Butterfly Punch I punched out two in the Island Indigo DSP used on the front.  I then adhered both butterflies using glue dots and added a Candy Dot in Island Indigo at the top of each.  The Sentiment is from the Circle of Spring Stamp Set.
