Lemon Lime Twist and Emerald Envy Smiling Card!

Got so excited when I saw the new Post Script Stamp in the new catalog.  Oh,my, so much fun.  It is a background stamp I had to use it first!  It is a large stamp, lovely full back ground for a regular card face or stamp it and cut up the stamped image to suit your design.  The square Very Vanilla Card Stock was stamped using Emerald Envy Ink.  Then I looked all over the stamp and found the perfect square for this card.  Die cut out and layered it with Emerald Envy and Lemon Lime Twist.  See below for a list of the products that I used on this card.

Delightful Daisy DSP Graduation Gift Check Holder

You may have noticed that I haven’t posted since early April.  Life kinda has a funny way of  happening!  Many family members visiting, and most especially my work.  And then when I had a couple of days off, got my laundry caught up and went to my craft room, I couldn’t think of one single card I wanted to make!  Ever happen to you?  So without cards I had nothing to post about.  I finally gave in and pulled out the card fronts I made for On Stage the first of April.  I have never shown them and I do think they are pretty.  So I will be featuring them over the next few weeks trying to get my posting back on a regular basis I will start by posting just once a week on Saturday.

That said, I did make a couple of new cards recently and will feature those first.  The one I am showing today was a graduation check holder made with the lovely, inspiring Delightful Daisy DSP and the Daisy Punch.

This is the outside, the check I used was a Cashiers Check and it is unusually long- 8 1/2″.  The colors are: Calypso Coral and Old Olive.  See below for the list of supplies that I used on this project.

Here it is without the ‘Belly Band”.

The sentiment is mostly original.  I found the basic sentiment on the internet but was unable to find the author.  I changed quite a bit of it to suit my situation. The sentiment was printed from my computer on Whisper White Card Stock and cut to fit.  The little length of Whisper White at the bottom of the sentiment covers up my personal message and signature.  Forgot to take a picture  before I signed it!

Here are the supplies I used in making this holder.  If you would like the size of the cuts  please email me and I will be happy to send them to you.

HERE ARE THE CUTS:

Calypso Coral Card Stock: 9″ X  8 1/2″ : Score Longwise: 2 3/4″,  6 3/8″  Fold on these lines

Old Olive Card Stock: Belly Band: 2″ X 8 1/2″ (overlap in back)

Whisper White Card Stock: 2 1/2″ X 8 3/4″

Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper: 2 1/2″ X 8 3/4″ (top), 2″ X 8 3/4″ ( bottom)

Here are some ideas to decorate the outside:

img_6272_edited-1

On this one above I added a belly band using a 1 1/2″ piece of Sending Love Designers Series Paper Stack.  Folded to fit around sides and glued together in the middle.  Next I wrapped twice a piece of Thick Whisper White Baker Twine and fastened in the middle (under the heart).  Basic layer under heart is the Whisper White Side of the Lace Doilies (Occasions Catalog).  The die cut real red heart used the Sunshine Wishes Thinlets die.  I then glued the die cut Real Red Heart to a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and ‘fussy cut’ around the heart.  The flowery heart is stamped in Real Red using the Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set.  I then die cut again using the Sunshine Wishes Heart die and inserted the middle and glued into place!  The little Arrow was die cut using Love Notes Framelits Die Cuts and the sentiment was stamped in Real Rd on Whisper White from the Sealed with Love Stamp Set and tried down to fit on arrow.

This little beauty was finished by a belly band of Sweet Sugarplum Card Stock, topped by a piece of the lovely Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim.  I turned the doily over and used the Very Vanilla Side of the Lace Doily out.  Using Sweet Sugarplum  Ink I stamped the heart from the Bloomin Love Stamp Set on Very Vanilla Card Stock, smudged the edge using a Sponge Dauber and Sweet Sugarplum Ink Pad.  The Arrow is die cut from the Love Notes Framelits Set, the sentiment stamped in Sweet Sugarplum on a scrap of Blushing Bride Card Stock, die cut using the little scalloped note die from the Love Notes Framelits Set.

Here are the different uses for this little box.

Sneak Peek!!! Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You Stamp Set in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake

Love, love, love this stamp set!  It will be available for purchase on January 4, 2017!  My daughter in law immediately came to mind when I saw the stamp set, her birthday was the end of November and this is her card.  She is a ballet instructor and past Ballerina with the prestigious Washington Ballet.  My favorite soft colors together are Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake and they just fit with this stamp set.  Watercolor technique was used on her hat and dress.

Here is how I did it.  Base card is Blushing Bride Card Stock layered with Crumb Cake Card Stock.  All corners were rounded using the Project Life Corner Rounder.  Another layer of Blushing Bride and then the top layer is Very Vanilla (for a softer look)!  I stamped the lovely lady using Jet Black Stazon Ink.  When dry using an aqua blender I picked up just a bit of Blushing Bride Ink and filled in the areas of her dress and hat.  I made a mask for her by stamping her twice and fussy cutting her out and holding in place while I stamped the water spatter and puddle.

The water spatter was stamped in Pool Party Ink using the Touches of Texture Stamp set. Then with the Aqua Painter and Pool Party Ink I colored in the pool at her feet.

3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon was adhered just below the picture with glue dots.  Then a short piece of the ribbon was tied in one knot to the left.

The sentiment was stamped in Jet Black Stazon Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock and die cut using an oval die from the Stitched Framelits set.  The next size oval was die cut from Blushing Bride Card Stock from the Layering Ovals Framelits.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla Card Stock  using the sentiment form Better Together Stamp Set.

Leaflets Framelits, Tangerine Tango and Dapper Denim team up for a masculine ‘Hello’ card

One of my husbands fraternity brothers from college has been under the weather so my husband asked me to create a card using their college colors-well sounds easy but the colors are blue and orange!  I thought what can you do with Blue and Orange?   Auburn University colors!  Dapper Denim and Tangerine Tango almost match their colors displayed on their website so I decided to use them-but then-how to create a masculine ‘thinking of you card’?

Actually when I was finished I was rather pleased with  it.  I cased this design from Diane Squires www.stampandembellish.com .  My base card is Dapper Denim Card Stock with a layer of Tangerine Tango next and topped with a layer of  Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The leaf was die cut in the upper top of the card layer using the Leaflets Framelits Oak Leaf die.  The layer in between is Tangerine Tango pattern from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.

My husband choose the sentiment and it was stamped in Dapper Denim using the stamp from Tin of Cards Stamp Set.  The ribbon is Dapper Denim in the 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon and adhered using SNAIL with a small snippet tied in a one knot on the left side.  The little embellishment on the upper left side are Dapper Denim Enamel dots from the 2016-2018 In Color Enamel Shapes Collection.

My husband choose not to have anything adorning the inside. He wanted lots of room to write his own note.  The layers are the Dapper Denim Card Base with Tangerine Tango next and top layer is Very Vanilla Card Stock.  All adhered using SNAIL adhesive.

Stampin’ Up! Petals and Paisleys Speciality DSP with Suite Seasons sentiment for Thanksgiving Card.

Thanksgiving is approaching quickly, time to get those cards finished and in the mail to your friends and loved ones.  Here’s another Thanksgiving card for inspiration.  Cajun Craze Card Stock is the Card Base.  Whisper White Card Stock was embossed with Lovely Lace Embossing Folder and adhered to the front of the card.  The pretty pattern from the Paisleys and Posies Speciality DSP was adhered to a piece of Cajun Craze Card Stock and then adhered to the Whisper White layer.

Next using a short strip of Burlap Ribbon each end was cut into a -V- shape and adhered using SNAIL Adhesive in the middle of the card front.

The sentiment is from the Suite Seasons Stamp Set and stamped in Cajun Craze on Whisper White Card Stock.  It was then die cut using an appropriate size of die from the Layering ovals Framelits.  The base of the frame of the sentiment was cut using the next size up die from the Layering Ovals Framelits set in Cajun Craze Card Stock.  This layer was adhered to the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

img_1716_edited-1 img_1714_edited-1

The inside of the card was finished by Stamping several different stamps from the Paisleys and Posies Stamp Set in Cajun Craze on the lower right corner on Whisper White Card Stock.  That layer was then adhered to the back inside of the card using SNAIL Adhesive.

Fairly quick and straightforward and easy to mail with no raised embellishments on it.  Hope you like it.
