Stampin’ Up! Fresh Fig Wine is Devine! All occasion card.

Here in North Georgia the temperature was an early fall 59 degrees this morning.  Cool, dry air and just hints of cooler weather to come.  What better way to celebrate fall that a delicious glass of red wine.

New Stampin’ Up! In Colors includes two colors that I was not too fond of, at first.  Now it is down to one.  Fresh Fig was one of those colors that just didn’t ring my bell.   Couldn’t think of a project or card I wanted to use it with…until I saw this versatile ‘Wine is Devine’ Stamp Set.  Suddenly realized that Fresh Fig is actually Red Wine color!  So I started playing and this is what I created.  The colors I used were Fresh Fig, Pear Pizazz and Whisper White.  The fluer de les at the top were stamped off twice before stamping on the card front.  The ‘sister’ stamp set that is perfect with   ‘Wine is Devine’ Stamp Set is the Stampin’ Up! Tuscan Vineyards Stamp Set-the fluer de les, the grapes and the award stamps.

The seal on the bottle of wine was first stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then the top was gently laid on the VersaMark  Pad and heat embossed with Copper Stampin’ Embossing Powder.  The bottle and glass wine was colored in using the Stampin’ Write Marker in Fresh Fig.  The label on the bottle was stamped on Blushing Bride Cardstock and fussy cut, applied with Multipurpose Glue.  The glass and bottle were fussy cut.

The corks on the inside are from the Tuscan Vineyards Stamp Set.  All Stampin’ Up! products and are listed below used in this card.

Delightful Daisy DSP Graduation Gift Check Holder

You may have noticed that I haven’t posted since early April.  Life kinda has a funny way of  happening!  Many family members visiting, and most especially my work.  And then when I had a couple of days off, got my laundry caught up and went to my craft room, I couldn’t think of one single card I wanted to make!  Ever happen to you?  So without cards I had nothing to post about.  I finally gave in and pulled out the card fronts I made for On Stage the first of April.  I have never shown them and I do think they are pretty.  So I will be featuring them over the next few weeks trying to get my posting back on a regular basis I will start by posting just once a week on Saturday.

That said, I did make a couple of new cards recently and will feature those first.  The one I am showing today was a graduation check holder made with the lovely, inspiring Delightful Daisy DSP and the Daisy Punch.

This is the outside, the check I used was a Cashiers Check and it is unusually long- 8 1/2″.  The colors are: Calypso Coral and Old Olive.  See below for the list of supplies that I used on this project.

Here it is without the ‘Belly Band”.

The sentiment is mostly original.  I found the basic sentiment on the internet but was unable to find the author.  I changed quite a bit of it to suit my situation. The sentiment was printed from my computer on Whisper White Card Stock and cut to fit.  The little length of Whisper White at the bottom of the sentiment covers up my personal message and signature.  Forgot to take a picture  before I signed it!

Here are the supplies I used in making this holder.  If you would like the size of the cuts  please email me and I will be happy to send them to you.

Sneak Peek!!! Stampin’ Up! Beautiful You Stamp Set in Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake

Love, love, love this stamp set!  It will be available for purchase on January 4, 2017!  My daughter in law immediately came to mind when I saw the stamp set, her birthday was the end of November and this is her card.  She is a ballet instructor and past Ballerina with the prestigious Washington Ballet.  My favorite soft colors together are Blushing Bride and Crumb Cake and they just fit with this stamp set.  Watercolor technique was used on her hat and dress.

Here is how I did it.  Base card is Blushing Bride Card Stock layered with Crumb Cake Card Stock.  All corners were rounded using the Project Life Corner Rounder.  Another layer of Blushing Bride and then the top layer is Very Vanilla (for a softer look)!  I stamped the lovely lady using Jet Black Stazon Ink.  When dry using an aqua blender I picked up just a bit of Blushing Bride Ink and filled in the areas of her dress and hat.  I made a mask for her by stamping her twice and fussy cutting her out and holding in place while I stamped the water spatter and puddle.

The water spatter was stamped in Pool Party Ink using the Touches of Texture Stamp set. Then with the Aqua Painter and Pool Party Ink I colored in the pool at her feet.

3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon was adhered just below the picture with glue dots.  Then a short piece of the ribbon was tied in one knot to the left.

The sentiment was stamped in Jet Black Stazon Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock and die cut using an oval die from the Stitched Framelits set.  The next size oval was die cut from Blushing Bride Card Stock from the Layering Ovals Framelits.

The inside sentiment was stamped in Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla Card Stock  using the sentiment form Better Together Stamp Set.

Pink Flamingoes! and Pop of Pink a Happy Hello Card

This PINK card was so much fun.  To me Flamingoes are kind of corny.  When driving through different neighborhoods in Florida one sees Flamingoes in many yards. I found a pair at a yard sale and put them by our pond just to tease my husband.  I finally got rid of them-they got kind of faded after awhile.

But here is a really pretty Pink Flamingo.  She even has jewels!  Check out her diamond necklace. For the base of this card I used Melon Mambo Card Stock.  Next adhered a layer of Basic Black Card Stock and topped it by placing a layer of Pop of Pink DSP on top.  All layers were adhered using SNAIL adhesive.  The corners were rounded using the Project Life Corner Punch.  Black patterned Washi tape is from Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape.  Next I made a layer of Basic Black Card Stock topped with a Layer of Whisper White Card Stock.  Using the Corner Punch on all corners.  Using Melon Mambo Ink I stamped the Flamingo Image from the Pop of Paradise Stamp Set.  Using the “Hello” sentiment stamp and Melon Mambo Ink I stamped it on Whisper White Card Stock.  The sentiment is from there Pop of Paradise Stamp Set.  Then I chose a  die from the Layered Circles Framelits that just fit the sentiment stamped image.  Choosing the next size up I die cut a circle in Basic Black Ink.  I adhered these two layers together and adhered them to the lower right front of the card  using Stampin Dimensionals.

The card front was finished by placing Rhinestone Basic Jewels on the neck of the Famingo, above and below the sentiment and on the lower left side.

The inside was finished by layering Basic Black Card Stock and topping it with Whisper White Card Stock. Two rows of contrasting Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape finish the inside.

Stampin’ Up! Cucumber Crush & Watermelon Wonder Tasty Card

Schools have reopened and kids have returned, ready or not!  When I was a kid, we always had a full summer of fun, we started back to school the day after Labor Day.  I remember August as being very hot, very dry (northern Ohio, southern Michigan) and cool under the trees.  We swam a lot, the county pool and an ice cold spring fed natural lake.  August was the time that Watermelon’s finally got ripe in the fields and near my house was a field of Watermelon one year.  They were so pretty oblong green blown up footballs among pretty dark green vines.  Just lying there in the sun soaking up the rays.  And the sound they make when you cut them open when the innards are so juicy that the you get it about half cut when the Watermelon just simply divides itself with a mushy kind of thunk.  And all that red, juicy, fragrant, very sweet goodness inside.  I don’t remember seedless, we always had seeds and if we were eating slices of Cold Watermelon you can bet that we were having seed spitting contests.

So today Amy’s Inkin Krew Blog Hop theme is the “last blast of  summer”.  Since I’m past the Bikini age (and size) I immediately thought of Watermelon.  Researching on Pinterest I came across a card that spoke to me.  It’s done by Darla Watson-Scrap Happens Here.   I changed it up a bit with color and embossing folder.

The card base is Cucumber Crush Card Stock, front is layered with Watermelon Wonder.  the Whisper White Card Stock was embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.  (Kind of represents 4th of July).  Basic Black was layered with Whisper White Card stock in a square cut.  Using Cucumber Crush Ink I stamped the sentiment from the new “Thoughtful Branches” Stamp and die set.

To make the Watermelon  I chose Cucumber Crush,  Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White Card Stock.  I chose three sizes of circles that fit together pretty well and die cut them. I then used the ‘grunge spatter pattern stamp” from the Timeless Textures stamp set.  I stamped it off once and using Watermelon Wonder stamped it on the Watermelon Wonder Card Stock.  Then using Cucumber Crush I stamped it off and stamped it on the Cucumber Crush.  The seeds are the bits and pieces from the leaf in the Flourishing Phrases Framelits Set in Basic Black.

I then adhered the Whisper white sheet to the Watermelon Wonder Sheet with SNAIL adhesive.

Watermelon red1

And of course, it’s summer, eating watermelon outside, spitting the seeds into the grass and the bees come flying. So, I had to add a cut little bee to the upper right corner.  He is the little bee from the Jar of Love Stamp set stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink on Crushed Curry Card Stock and die cut using the matching die from Everyday Jars Framelits.  He has a ‘blingy’ head from an added Rhinestone Jewel.  I attached him with a Stampin’ Dimensional to give him a little definition.

Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder

I added Thick Baker’s Twine in Cucumber Crush to the bottom the front of the card and tied it in a bow.  Didn’t like the bow so I just knotted it and kind of frayed the ends of the Twine.

When I was taking photos of this card I couldn’t decide which base color popped this card so I photographed both and wanted to show both.  I think I like the Cucumber Crush best but..then again the Watermelon Wonder if pretty too. The Cucumber Crush has a somewhat cooler look.

Watermelon 2

And the inside of the card was a  no brainer.  Layered Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White Card Stock.   I had some Watermelon left over and just needed to add the seeds the same way I did on the front.  Adhered with SNAIL adhesive.  Then of course, three little bees heading for their lunch in the Upper Right Corner stamped in Crushed Curry.

The envelope sports the new Washi Tape in three diagonal stripes featuring Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder.

There is a list of the products I used in this project at the very end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Affectionately Yours DSP Double Fold Card

This card created in Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper with Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight tags and tassels is bright and fun to make.

Double fold cards look oh so difficult and yet the card is quick, easy and its all in the fold!  You start with an 8 1/2″ X 11″ card stock, (preferably double sided) and fold its and its ready to be decorated.  There are so many things that you can stick in those pockets to decorate the card are endless.  I used tags with sentiments but thought about gift cards, a special photograph (the insert can be as wide as 4″ wide and as tall as 5 inches.  This card is a regular size 4 1/2″ X 5 1/4″ Card.  It does open and has plenty of room for writing or another two pictures

Don’t you love the bright colors that Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy create in this card?  It immediately makes you happy.  The Base Card is Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper and folded into a double pocket card.  Once folded I used the Flourish Thinlets border die in Daffodil Delight.  I adhered it along the pocket line with the Fine Tip Glue Pen trimming the die cut to fit the edge.

The flower cluster is die cut from Daffodil Delight and Cucumber Crush.  I used the leaf die cut from the May Flower Framelits set and the flower was die cut from the small flower in the Botanical Builder Framelit set.  The center of the flower are enamel shapes in Night of Navy from the Regal Enamel Shapes.  The leaves and the flowers were adhered using glue dots for perfect placement.

The tags made by cutting a strip of Daffodil Delight and punching the top using the Scalloped Tag Punch.  The Tassels were made handmade from Night of Navy Solid Twine.  The flower silhouette was die cut in Very Vanilla using the Flourish Thinlits Die.  I made it go off the page for interest.  Using Night of Navy Ink I stamped the sentiments below the die cuts. Thank you sentiment is from the Tin of Cards Stamp Set and the My Heart Smiles is from the Suite Sayings Stamp Set.  I layered the Very Vanilla with Night of Navy Card Stock and cut it very close just to give it a slim shadow.  These are adhered using SNAIL adhesive.

The inside of the crd is layered with Daffodil Delight Card Stock cut 1/2″ less and the top layer is Very Vanilla cut a bit narrower.  I stamped two corners in Daffodil Delight using the small flower bunch from Love and Affection Stamp Set.  I didn’t get it in the picture but the opposite page on the inside is the same lovely pattern as the front.

Here are the supplies I used to create this card:

Stampin’ Up! Dapper Denim Card Stock, By the Shore DSP and Seaside Shore Stamp set.

August 1!  Oh, has it been a hot summer so far here in North Georgia.  We are lucky though, our high doesn’t usually get past 88 or so.  But of course our humidity is 200%….  Makes it feel like 110 degrees. I think of going to the seashore, for us it usually means West coast of Florida.  It’s very hot down there this summer too, so I guess we’ll just stay home in the AC.  Making this card made me yearn for a condo on the beach with a big window looking over the beach and water and luxurious AC….I guess that defeats the purpose.

This little fish is very happily cool in his environment.  I made this card by first stamping the fish in Mint Macaron  Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  I hand colored him using Dapper Denim ink and a Blender Pen.  The bubbles are stamped in Dapper Denim and colored with Dapper Denim.  The little star fix and the clams are stamped in Crumb Cake.  This was die cut using a smaller oval from the Layering Oval Framelit dies.  The background was die cut using a bit larger scalloped oval from the same set.

The stripped  layer is a layer of By the Sea Shore DSP on a layer of Soft Sky Card Stock cut 1/4 inch larger.  Before adhering the pieces together I placed a length of Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon across the lower 1/3 of the piece using SNAIL to fasten it down.

The bottom layer is a piece of the By The Sea Shore DSP , embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder then adhered to a layer of Dapper Denim Card Stock and adhered to the card base using SNAIL adhesive.

The stripped layer was adhered using SNAIL.  The fish piece was placed using Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a bit of definition.  A bow was made using Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon and placed in the middle of the horizontal ribbon with Glue Dots.

The inside of the card was completed by adhering a layer of Dapper Denim to the back.  I cut a layer of very vanilla allowing 3/4″ on each side, I then daubed the edges (smudged) with Dapper Denim to give it a bit of dimension.

The Seaweed, shells and Starfish are stamps from the By the Seashore Stamp set and I stamped them in Crumb Cake.  This is a fairly quick and easy card.  Hope you’ll try it.
