Stampin’ Up! Fresh Fig Wine is Devine! All occasion card.

Here in North Georgia the temperature was an early fall 59 degrees this morning.  Cool, dry air and just hints of cooler weather to come.  What better way to celebrate fall that a delicious glass of red wine.

New Stampin’ Up! In Colors includes two colors that I was not too fond of, at first.  Now it is down to one.  Fresh Fig was one of those colors that just didn’t ring my bell.   Couldn’t think of a project or card I wanted to use it with…until I saw this versatile ‘Wine is Devine’ Stamp Set.  Suddenly realized that Fresh Fig is actually Red Wine color!  So I started playing and this is what I created.  The colors I used were Fresh Fig, Pear Pizazz and Whisper White.  The fluer de les at the top were stamped off twice before stamping on the card front.  The ‘sister’ stamp set that is perfect with   ‘Wine is Devine’ Stamp Set is the Stampin’ Up! Tuscan Vineyards Stamp Set-the fluer de les, the grapes and the award stamps.

The seal on the bottle of wine was first stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then the top was gently laid on the VersaMark  Pad and heat embossed with Copper Stampin’ Embossing Powder.  The bottle and glass wine was colored in using the Stampin’ Write Marker in Fresh Fig.  The label on the bottle was stamped on Blushing Bride Cardstock and fussy cut, applied with Multipurpose Glue.  The glass and bottle were fussy cut.

The corks on the inside are from the Tuscan Vineyards Stamp Set.  All Stampin’ Up! products and are listed below used in this card.

Stampin’ Up! Petals and Paisleys Speciality DSP with Suite Seasons sentiment for Thanksgiving Card.

Thanksgiving is approaching quickly, time to get those cards finished and in the mail to your friends and loved ones.  Here’s another Thanksgiving card for inspiration.  Cajun Craze Card Stock is the Card Base.  Whisper White Card Stock was embossed with Lovely Lace Embossing Folder and adhered to the front of the card.  The pretty pattern from the Paisleys and Posies Speciality DSP was adhered to a piece of Cajun Craze Card Stock and then adhered to the Whisper White layer.

Next using a short strip of Burlap Ribbon each end was cut into a -V- shape and adhered using SNAIL Adhesive in the middle of the card front.

The sentiment is from the Suite Seasons Stamp Set and stamped in Cajun Craze on Whisper White Card Stock.  It was then die cut using an appropriate size of die from the Layering ovals Framelits.  The base of the frame of the sentiment was cut using the next size up die from the Layering Ovals Framelits set in Cajun Craze Card Stock.  This layer was adhered to the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside of the card was finished by Stamping several different stamps from the Paisleys and Posies Stamp Set in Cajun Craze on the lower right corner on Whisper White Card Stock.  That layer was then adhered to the back inside of the card using SNAIL Adhesive.

Stampin’ Up! Cookie Cutter Halloween Favor for Thanksgiving

I work in a Long Term Care Facility.  It is often difficult to have a positive attitude when you are dealing with multiple people with dementia and just plain cranky folk!  The Nurses Aides, Nurses, Housekeepers, Laundry and Kitchen all deserve something to brighten their day.  So…I usually hand out little handmade stamped favors, treat boxes, etc. on every occasion.  This year I decided to do little favors to hand out at the beginning of November.  They’ll get theirs next week during Inservices.

As I began to make them I realized that I was short of Delightful Dijon Ribbon so I looked through my stash and came up with a while roll of  “More Mustard” ribbon that is now retired.  I hope you will forgive me. It took the whole roll and I made thirty of these little treat holders.

The outside is made with Cajun Craze Card Stock cut just a bit wider and 1 1/2″ longer than my little baggy insert.  I found these inserts at Walmart in the Craft-Beads department.   They just hold a small handful of Candy Corn and small handful of Fall colored M & M’s.  Just something to say I care.

The little ScareCrow is stamped in Stazon Black Ink  on Very Vanilla Card Stock and colored in using STampin’ Up! Markers in Dapper Denim, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive Ink.  Then punched out using the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  The leaf is created by stamping the sentiment from Grateful Bunch Stamp Set in Cajun Craze on Delightful Dijon and then die cutting using the small die from Leaflet Framelits Set.

The Scarecrow and the leaf are adhered to the front of the favor container using Glue Dots.  Hope you like it! Product List

Stampin’ Up! Petals and Paisleys Speciality DSP in Cajun Craze Thankful Card

Another Fall card!  Don’t you love Fall?  My favorite season.  I do not do summer very well, so Fall is a welcome relief and I get to wear turtle necks and wools.  Crisp mornings just somehow inspire energy in me!

So here is another Fall Card.  Cajun Craze Card Stock is the basic card.  I did a little differently with the DSP on this card.  The DSP here is a pattern from the Petals and Paisleys Speciality DSP and I used my sponge to light dip into the Cajun Craze Ink Pad and buff over the pattern to kind of make the background a bit darker.  Using the Banners Framelits Dies I die cut a banner in Crushed Curry to fit the left 1/3 of the card front.  I  then smudged the edge of the Crushed curry Card Stock with a Sponge Dauber and Cajun Craze.

img_1693

Next I adhered the checkered patterned DSP from Petals and Paisleys Speciality DSP to a piece of Cajun Craze Card Stock.  The sentiment is from the Paisley’s and Posies Stamp Set and is stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock using Cajun Craze.  Next I smudged the background with Cajun Craze and using a couple of the tiny leave stamps I stamped off twice and ‘shadow’ stamped all over the background in a collage manner.  All layers were adhered using SNAIL adhesive.

img_1695

The fancy paisley die cut on the upper left was done by using the medallion (I don’t know what else to call it) die from the Paisle Framelits Dies in Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze.  Getting all those little holes poked out was accomlished with the new die brush.  The brush and sponge pad are wonderful getting all those little nooks and crannies cleaned up in a jiffy.  I adhered the medallion to the card front using glue dots.

img_1694

The inside of the card was competed by layering Crushed Curry Card Stock with Very Vanilla Card Stock and smudging all the edges in Cajun Craze Ink.  The leaves are a repeat from the front and done in the same way stamping off twice.

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves, Touches of Texture in Stamped Fall Collage Card

Had to play with Touches of Texture Stamp Set with Vintage Leaves Stamp set to create the perfect Fall collage background.  I love how it turned out!  Here are the particulars:

The card base is Cajun Craze Card Stock layered with Delightful Dijon Card Stock using SNAIL adhesive. the using a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock for the based I pulled out the ink pads: Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon,  Old Olive, and Early Espresso.  I used Butterfly Basics, Touches of Texture and Vintage Leaves to stamp the images at random places

img_1610_edited-1

3/8″ Delightful Dijon Ribbon (3/8″  Ribbon Trio Pack from Holiday Catalog) was placed across the left side and adhered using glue dots and SNAIL at edge to turn ribbon to back. This finished piece was then adhered to the Delightful Dijon layer with SNAIL Adhesive.  I then made a bow out of the same Delightful Dijon Ribbon and adhered to the ribbon strip using Glue Dots to hold in place.

The sentiment is from the Basket of Wishes Stamp set and is stamped in Delightful Dijon on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Then it was die cut using the Tags and Labels Framelits set.  Choosing the next two sizes I then die cut the next layer in Delightful Dijon and the bottom layer in Cajun Craze Card Stock.  This was adhered to the front lower right with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

img_1613_edited-1

The inside is simple to finish.  Delightful Dijon is adhered to the back of the card.  Next layer is Very Vanilla Card Stock with edge sponged (aggressively) with Cajun Craze Ink and Stamping Sponge cut in 1/4’s.  Vintage Leaves were stamped in Old Olive and Cajun Craze Ink on the lower right side. Last using the Honeycomb stamp from the Butterfly Basics in Delightful Dijon.

Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves and Swirly Scribbles Thanksgiving Card

Fall is the most exciting time of the year to be stamping.  It has finally cooled off, leaves are falling and fall colors are the best ever!  In this card today I used Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Delightful Dijon.

The card base is Very Vanilla Card Stock.  I used the Stampin’ Spritzer to ‘spatter’ Cajun Craze Ink Refill on the front.  Keep the card stock more than an arm’s length from the spritzer to get the spattered effect.  After drying stamp the sentiment form Paisleys and Posies on the upper left side of the front in Cajun Craze.

The longish Oak Leaf from the Vintage Leaf stamp set was stamped in Old Olive on the lower right side of the front.  Then using  the long die from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets I die cut it in Cajun Craze Card Stock.  The ends were then trimmed to uneven lengths and also two lines were cut free.  Using the two pieces of die cut Cajun Craze I layered them in an eye pleasing way and adhered using small dots of  Multipurpose Glue.

The leaves themselves were stamped in Black Stazon on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Then using 1/4 of a Stampin’ Sponge (I cut mine up into quarters), I smudged Old Olive, Delightful Dijon on each leaf.  When done to my satisfaction I then die cut them using the Leaflets Framelits dies to match.  After die cutting I then ‘flicked’ a sponge in Cajun Craze on all the edges.  The two leaves were then attached together using a glue dot.  I then tied a bow in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Trio Bundle in the Holiday Catalog.  The leaves were attached by placing Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the largest leaf.

The inside of the card was completed by layering Cajun Craze Card Stock with Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The leaves were stamped in Old Olive and Delightful Dijon in the right hand upper corner from the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Up! Leaflets Framelits Thanksgiving Card for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Winter Holiday Blog Hop

img_3973

The leaves have begun to turn here in North Georgia and because of the drought we are in, they have been falling off for weeks.  I found this card on Pinterest done by Dawns Stamping Thoughts.  I used a bit different technique on the leave, and different colors but I think it turned out well.

The card base is Old Olive Card Stock and a layer of Cajun Craze Card Stock adhered using SNAIL adhesive.  On the next layer on the left is two pieces adhered together of Old Olive Card Stock layered with a piece of  patterned Serene Scenery Designers Series Paper Stack.   The next layer is Old Olive Card Stock with a piece of Whisper White Card Stock both die cut using the largest and next largest Layering Squares dies.

The leaf was first stamped on Very Vanilla Card Stock using Black Stazon Ink.  Then using a quarter of the Stampin’ Sponge I smudged Delightful Dijon and Old Olive on the leaf until I got just the right look.  It really is easy, just don’t worry about using a heavy hand.  Then I die cut it using the leaf die from the Leaflits Framelits.  Next I used another side of the 1/4 sponge and flicked the edges of the die cut leaf with Cajun Craze.  I finished the leaf by tying a bow on the stem using a strand of  Garden Green and a strand of Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Trio Pack.  (Secret…don’t tell, when you add the strands to the front of the card they look like Old Olive and Cajun Craze!)  Next I adhered the leaf to the square panel using SNAIL adhesive.

The sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black from the Basket of Wishes Set.

img_1556_1905

The inside was finished using another piece of that Serene Scenery DSP cut approx. 1/2″ on all sides.  The finished layer is Whisper White Card Stock.  I cut it to size then smudged Cajun Craze Ink on all the edges. Then using the die cut leaf ‘cut out’ as a pattern from the front of the card, I layered Old Olive, Delightful Dijon and Cajun Craze using the sponging technique.  Kind of nifty don’t you think?  Love the vintage feel for Thanksgiving.
