Stampin’ Up! Red, White, Blue Candy Crate!

Favorite holidays!  4th of July is up there near the top.  I love fireworks and parades.  That just yells out 4th of July!  Recently we had an Amy’s Inkin Team Meeting, these were my favors to pass out to all the attendees.  I actually found Red, White and Blue Peanut and Regular M & M’s!  Also the Kisses were in blue foil as well in the Birthday section of Walmart.

Don’t you love the roster on the ends?  He’s on both ends.  I stamped this after I die cut the crate out.

These are the supplies I used in making these cute Red, White and Blue Candy Crates!

Card Stock:  Thick White Card Stock

Ink Pads:  Pacific Point, Real Red

Bundle:  Wood Crate Framelits and Wood Words Stamp Set

Stamp Set: Beautiful You (“Celebrate” Sentiment)

Candy Baggie:  Gusseted Cellophane Bags 3 X 6

Ribbon: Pacific Point  1/4″ Stitched Edge Ribbon

Tape: Fast Fuse  (holds better than glue or regular tape)

Grateful Bunch and Jar of Love are sweet Thank you Card in Mint Macaron.

Summer flowers are beginning to fade.  I just noticed today that Walmart is already displaying potted fall mums here in the South!  Just a little early I think.  The weather here is stinkin’ hot.  Humid and sticky.  A few brief showers today and then it felt even more unbearable.  In the mid 90’s.

I used Mint Macaron to give this card a little breath of fresh flowers, maybe a cooler breeze!  Even the breezes have been hot this summer!  The base is Mint Macaron Card Stock with a layer of Blooms and Bliss DSP.  Then using the lovely flower stems in the Jar of Love Stamp Set I stamped them twice using Mint Macaroon.

The jar was made by using Stazon Black Ink on a window Sheet  and then using the matching jar die cut from Everyday Jar Framelits set.  Using just a drop of  the Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the sides, top and bottom I adhered the die cut positioning it over the flower stems.

Using the flower stamp from Grateful Bunch Stamp Set I used Tuxedo Black on  Very Vanilla Card Stock and then punched out the flowers using the coordinating Blossom Bunch Punch.   Using a sponge dauber and Mint Macaroon Ink Pad I smudged each flower to get just a hint of green.  The centers are Daffodil Delight using a sponge dauber.  Positioning the flowers  over the stamped stems I added dimension to two of them by using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere them.  The other flowers were adhered by using glue dots.

The bow is Mint Macaroon 3/8″ sheer linen ribbon and adhered using a glue dot.  The sentiment is Thanks Stamp from the Jar of Love Stamp Set stamped in Tuxedo Black on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  It was then die cut using an appropriately sized die from the Tags and Labels Set.  It was then smudged on the edge using a sponge dauber and Mint Macaron Ink.  I adhered it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The cute little Bee was stamped in Tuxedo Black on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Die cut using the bee die from the Everyday Jar Framelits set.  I colored it using Daffodil Delight and Aqua Painter.  I gave the bee a little ‘bling’ adhering a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel to his head.

The inside of the card was finished using Very Vanilla Card Stock and placing a piece of Washi Tape form the Affectionately Yours Set across both corners.  The flowers are stamped using the two step flower from the Jug of Love Stamp Set.  The base of the flowers were stamped in Pool Party Ink.  The top layer was Mint Macaron.

Stampin’ Up! Cucumber Crush & Watermelon Wonder Tasty Card

Schools have reopened and kids have returned, ready or not!  When I was a kid, we always had a full summer of fun, we started back to school the day after Labor Day.  I remember August as being very hot, very dry (northern Ohio, southern Michigan) and cool under the trees.  We swam a lot, the county pool and an ice cold spring fed natural lake.  August was the time that Watermelon’s finally got ripe in the fields and near my house was a field of Watermelon one year.  They were so pretty oblong green blown up footballs among pretty dark green vines.  Just lying there in the sun soaking up the rays.  And the sound they make when you cut them open when the innards are so juicy that the you get it about half cut when the Watermelon just simply divides itself with a mushy kind of thunk.  And all that red, juicy, fragrant, very sweet goodness inside.  I don’t remember seedless, we always had seeds and if we were eating slices of Cold Watermelon you can bet that we were having seed spitting contests.

So today Amy’s Inkin Krew Blog Hop theme is the “last blast of  summer”.  Since I’m past the Bikini age (and size) I immediately thought of Watermelon.  Researching on Pinterest I came across a card that spoke to me.  It’s done by Darla Watson-Scrap Happens Here.   I changed it up a bit with color and embossing folder.

The card base is Cucumber Crush Card Stock, front is layered with Watermelon Wonder.  the Whisper White Card Stock was embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Lucky Stars Embossing Folder.  (Kind of represents 4th of July).  Basic Black was layered with Whisper White Card stock in a square cut.  Using Cucumber Crush Ink I stamped the sentiment from the new “Thoughtful Branches” Stamp and die set.

To make the Watermelon  I chose Cucumber Crush,  Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White Card Stock.  I chose three sizes of circles that fit together pretty well and die cut them. I then used the ‘grunge spatter pattern stamp” from the Timeless Textures stamp set.  I stamped it off once and using Watermelon Wonder stamped it on the Watermelon Wonder Card Stock.  Then using Cucumber Crush I stamped it off and stamped it on the Cucumber Crush.  The seeds are the bits and pieces from the leaf in the Flourishing Phrases Framelits Set in Basic Black.

I then adhered the Whisper white sheet to the Watermelon Wonder Sheet with SNAIL adhesive.

And of course, it’s summer, eating watermelon outside, spitting the seeds into the grass and the bees come flying. So, I had to add a cut little bee to the upper right corner.  He is the little bee from the Jar of Love Stamp set stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink on Crushed Curry Card Stock and die cut using the matching die from Everyday Jars Framelits.  He has a ‘blingy’ head from an added Rhinestone Jewel.  I attached him with a Stampin’ Dimensional to give him a little definition.

Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder

I added Thick Baker’s Twine in Cucumber Crush to the bottom the front of the card and tied it in a bow.  Didn’t like the bow so I just knotted it and kind of frayed the ends of the Twine.

When I was taking photos of this card I couldn’t decide which base color popped this card so I photographed both and wanted to show both.  I think I like the Cucumber Crush best but..then again the Watermelon Wonder if pretty too. The Cucumber Crush has a somewhat cooler look.

Watermelon 2

And the inside of the card was a  no brainer.  Layered Watermelon Wonder and Whisper White Card Stock.   I had some Watermelon left over and just needed to add the seeds the same way I did on the front.  Adhered with SNAIL adhesive.  Then of course, three little bees heading for their lunch in the Upper Right Corner stamped in Crushed Curry.

The envelope sports the new Washi Tape in three diagonal stripes featuring Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder.

There is a list of the products I used in this project at the very end of this post.

Now that you have visited my Blog Hop, Hop on over to see what Amy has created.

Stampin’ Up! Dapper Denim Card Stock, By the Shore DSP and Seaside Shore Stamp set.

August 1!  Oh, has it been a hot summer so far here in North Georgia.  We are lucky though, our high doesn’t usually get past 88 or so.  But of course our humidity is 200%….  Makes it feel like 110 degrees. I think of going to the seashore, for us it usually means West coast of Florida.  It’s very hot down there this summer too, so I guess we’ll just stay home in the AC.  Making this card made me yearn for a condo on the beach with a big window looking over the beach and water and luxurious AC….I guess that defeats the purpose.

This little fish is very happily cool in his environment.  I made this card by first stamping the fish in Mint Macaron  Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  I hand colored him using Dapper Denim ink and a Blender Pen.  The bubbles are stamped in Dapper Denim and colored with Dapper Denim.  The little star fix and the clams are stamped in Crumb Cake.  This was die cut using a smaller oval from the Layering Oval Framelit dies.  The background was die cut using a bit larger scalloped oval from the same set.

The stripped  layer is a layer of By the Sea Shore DSP on a layer of Soft Sky Card Stock cut 1/4 inch larger.  Before adhering the pieces together I placed a length of Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon across the lower 1/3 of the piece using SNAIL to fasten it down.

The bottom layer is a piece of the By The Sea Shore DSP , embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder then adhered to a layer of Dapper Denim Card Stock and adhered to the card base using SNAIL adhesive.

The stripped layer was adhered using SNAIL.  The fish piece was placed using Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a bit of definition.  A bow was made using Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon and placed in the middle of the horizontal ribbon with Glue Dots.

The inside of the card was completed by adhering a layer of Dapper Denim to the back.  I cut a layer of very vanilla allowing 3/4″ on each side, I then daubed the edges (smudged) with Dapper Denim to give it a bit of dimension.

The Seaweed, shells and Starfish are stamps from the By the Seashore Stamp set and I stamped them in Crumb Cake.  This is a fairly quick and easy card.  Hope you’ll try it.

Thank You card featuring Stampin’ Up! Affectionately Yours DSP with Watermelon Wonder with Crumb Cake Card Stock. Bright (firecracker bright!!).

Fourth of July is just a few days away.  Watermelon is a staple for the fourth celebrations all over the United States.  When I was in Alaska I noticed they were featuring Watermelons too!  So I decided to play with our returning color Watermelon Wonder.  Hope you like it!  And Happy Fourth!

Watermelon Wonder is a color that I do not ordinarily gravitate towards when designing a card.  I decided that I would pair it with Crumb Cake and go with whatever felt right.  That said-here it is.  Crumb Cake Card Stock base layered with Affectionately yours Speciality DSP.  I was immediately drawn to these complimentary patterns and they do so well with the Crumb Cake.

Second Layer is Crumb Cake with Watermelon Wonder Card Stock.  The on the upper left and lower right Crumb Cake is layered with DSP and strategically placed.  The sentiment is from the Hostess Stamp Set, “Basket for You” and  is stamped with Watermelon Wonder Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock then die cut using the die from Bunch of Banners Framelits.  Remember, you can earn this very cute Hostess stamp set free with a $150 order.   I then layered it on Crumb Cake Card Stock and fussy cut around the perimeter.   It is adhered using Stampin’ Dimensional’s to bring it to the forefront.

The Flowers are are from the Love and Affection Stamp Set, stamped in Watermelon Wonder on Very Vanilla Card Stock.  Fussy Cut, layered on Crumb Cake and Fussy Cut again.  They are also adhered using Stampin’ Dimensional’s.

The little butterfly is created by using the Bitty Butterfly Punch in DSP and Crumb Cake.  Using a glue dot to assemble just slightly off center and glue dot to adhere to front of card.  A Rhinestone Basic Jewel was applied for the head of the butterfly.

The inside of the card was finished by layering Affectionately Yours DSP to the base Crumb Cake Card Stock, then adhering a much smaller layer of Very Vanilla Card Stock.  The corner flowers were created using the Petite Petal Punch with the DSP and Watermelon Wonder Card Stock.

Hello Sunshine in Hello Honey and Whisper White using the Hello Stamp Set (Sale A Bration), sadly no longer available.

Summer is coming!  Quicker than I realized.  Our schools ended last Friday, that has always signified to me the end of Spring and the beginning of summer.

I have to share a little story with you,  I have five children the oldest to the youngest is 15 years.  So when my oldest was graduating from high school, my youngest was starting Kindergarten.  I lived with school buses for about 24 consecutive years.  They were just part of my life.  When my youngest son graduated from high school and left home I was way over the empty nest syndrome!  I was ready for some ‘me’ time.  No problem-until that fall, I was driving to work that fall when a school bus pulled in front of me.  All of a sudden I realized that I would never have another child riding the school bus!     I started crying and cried all the way to work.  I was so bereft!!!

So with that said, here is my yellow Sunshine Card.

Sunshine

For this cheery Card I used Whisper White Card Stock for the Card base, then layered a piece of Hello Honey.  The piece is from the Perfectly Artistic DSP (sadly SAB no longer available).  The pretty flowery print is from the 2014-2016 Color Collections DSP (soon to be retired).

Using Hello Honey Ink I stamped the sentiments on the front and heat embossed them using Stampin’ Up! Embossing Powder.  I finished the front adding Candy Dots in Daffodil Delight on each end.

Sunshine ins

To make the inside match the outside I layered Hello Honey Yardstick on top of the Whisper White, then a layer of  Whisper White on the Hello Honey layer.  Upper left I used the two DSP scraps and cut the at an angle, adhered them to the card using Snail Adhesive and stamped a sun from the Hello Stamp Set in Hello Honey.

The envelope was lined in the   2014-2016 Color Collections DSP using the Stampin’ Up! Envelope  Framelit set.

Summery for sure!
